My name is Elliott Locke (Elijah MC), and I’m organising Reggae Praise, a free community event taking place at Eastbourne Bandstand on Thursday 20 August. I attend and am being supported by Kings Church.
The vision is simple: to bring people together through uplifting reggae music, positive community, and the hope of the Gospel in a welcoming environment on Eastbourne seafront.
The event will feature:
- Live reggae performances from Elijah MC, DJ A.B. (Premier Gospel Radio), and special guest Lytie Powel.
- Local Christian testimonies between performances.
- A family-friendly atmosphere.
- Food vendors.
- Space for local churches to host information stalls, meet people, answer questions, and simply be present within the community.
Admission is completely free, and the Bandstand team are providing the venue, stewarding and security.
I’d love to invite Churches Together Eastbourne and its member churches to get involved in whichever way feels appropriate. This could include:
- Sharing the event with your congregation.
- Displaying the attached poster.
- Mentioning it in your notices or newsletter.
- Hosting a church information table during the event.
Our hope is that this will be a positive, welcoming event that serves the wider Eastbourne community while giving local churches an opportunity to connect with people in a relaxed setting.
