Healing Encounters Weekend 14th – 16th November.

Here is Shirley’s story of her Healing Encounters Weekend: My husband passed away in March. Although I knew his health conditions were life-limiting, the timing of his death came as a deep shock. I found myself shutting down mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. When the initial numbness began to lift, I felt drawn to the Crowhurst Christian Healing Centre and decided to book a Healing Encounters weekend. I have always loved coming to Crowhurst—the presence of the Lord is so tangible there, and I come expecting Him to meet and change me in some way. I arrived at lunchtime, and one of the chaplains joined me at the table. After the meal, I asked if I could receive prayer. That moment marked the beginning of God’s healing work, which continued with another prayer session on Friday afternoon before the weekend began.

The key scripture for me was John 4—the woman at the well. Susanne gave four talks over the weekend, each one profound, deeply relevant, and clearly Spirit-led. I knew without doubt that my coming to Crowhurst was not my idea but the Father’s invitation. There was plenty of space for quiet reflection, and on Saturday afternoon, everyone who wanted personal prayer was given a time slot. The communion service on Sunday was a very special moment, including anointing for those who wished to come forwardDuring the weekend, the Lord revealed that I was carrying a heavy “bag” of suppressed emotions, sealed with a “trapdoor” that said, “Don’t think about these things,” and covered by a block of “concrete” that kept pain locked away. On Friday morning, I felt prompted to go to the art room and paint how I was feeling. What a blessing that space was! Over the next two days, I created seven paintings—each one a step in the healing journey.

As the chaplain prayed for Jesus to put a crack in the “concrete,” I said aloud, “I choose to think about these things.” That was the moment the deep healing began. By Sunday morning, with the seventh painting completed, I was smiling—the concrete was gone, and the heavy bag had become much lighter. The first six paintings were burned in the brazier after the communion service, symbolizing release. I kept the seventh painting as the beginning of a new chapter.

If you are burdened or weary—whatever the cause—take Jesus at His word: “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” —Matthew 11:28. Come to Crowhurst with an open heart and expect to meet Him there. You will find He is waiting for you.

There are a couple of places left on the Healing Encounters Weekend 14th – 16th November. Book by calling 01424 830204 or here: https://www.crowhursthealing.org.uk/retreat.php?retreat=950

Local Church Security Advice Available

Churches face all kinds of security issues from theft to graffiti, occasional disruption of events and violence to clergy.

Local security advisers Fortis may be able to help if you would value help in this area.

As a Security Company we have been made aware of a Government Grant for funding the installation of protective measures at places of worship, some of the measures are for CCTV, Entry systems and Key-fob systems. This grant can be applied for by places of worship and is designed to increase the security and protective measures, and to reduce harm to communities and their Places of Worship.

My years as a police officer have shown me the importance of putting in place preventative measure to protect people from harm.
I would also like to extend our services to anyone who may need them and invite anyone to get in contact if they want to enquire further. We can provide all aspects of security and would be sure to support anyone who needed our help.

I have also attached a link to our website, my contact details are also at the bottom of this news item

Jesus Loves Eastbourne – A unique idea for local mission

Geoff Tompkins of Jesus Loves Bexhill writes:

It all started some six years ago when my friend and I started going out litter picking along Bexhill promenade, wearing t-shirts carrying the message ‘Jesus Loves Bexhill’, and eventually upgrading to brilliant lime-green HiVis tops so people could easily see and identify us once our numbers had significantly increased.

Over the years we have experienced some amazing things:- healing, divine appointments, salvations, people’s faith being rejuvenated, our boldness and experience growing, as we have gone out and about in Bexhill at least twice every month, collecting litter and chatting with people. We have become very well known and appreciated, and even our MP asked to come out with us, which he did for a couple of hours;

café owners give us free drinks, one even offered us free curries, and organisers of big events such as Bexhill Carnival, Horse Show and Custom Car Show, have allowed us to place full page information in their programmes, and have even given sizeable donations! You can find out much more on our website at www.jesuslovesbexhill.org.uk.

People from other towns have seen and heard what is going on in Bexhill and have wanted to emulate what we do. We support these groups in many ways:- providing all artwork for their very own Jesus Loves their town logo, plus sufficient equipment and HiVis tops to get them started.

There are now groups in various towns as follows:
Jesus Loves Copthorne
Jesus Loves Crawley Down
Jesus Loves East Grinstead
Jesus Loves Sidley
Jesus Loves St Leonards

Recently we have been asked to help establish groups in other towns in West Sussex, but what about a Jesus Loves Eastbourne, or a Jesus Loves Langney, or even a Jesus Loves Hampden Park???

If you would like to help establish a group in your area and would like to know more, please get in touch, we would love to meet up and share more with you.  Perhaps a few of us from other towns could come along and share at a church house group or similar; or perhaps a meeting first over a coffee somewhere near you?

You could already be out there serving in the community, or wanting to but don’t know how.  We would be happy to talk it through – please get in touch.
