PARCHE – THE CHURCH IN CARE HOMES – is a Christian Charity operating in the Eastbourne area.  We are looking for a person who is passionate about bringing the love of God to older people living in Care Homes.  This is a Paid position with expenses paid.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Post:  Co-ordinator

Location:  Home-based

Hours:  A target of approximately 20 hours monthly worked flexibly – £13.00 per hour.

SUMMARY AND MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To co-ordinate with local churches, care homes and volunteers in providing Christian worship services for residents.

Main tasks:

  • Oversee co-ordination of work in local care homes
  • Talk about PARCHE in local churches, to raise its profile and recruit volunteers
  • Link new teams with care homes
  • Assist with arranging four central events each year

 

Key relationships:

  • Trustees
  • Office Manager
  • Volunteers

 

Skills and Attributes:

  • Practising Christian who is a member of a local church
  • Ability to set own priorities and work unsupervised
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Computer and Record keeping

 

Expenses:

  • For example, transport, telephone, office costs etc

BACKGROUND ON PARCHE

PARCHE is an inter-denominational Christian charity founder 25 years ago whose heart is to reach older people with the love of God. All our funding comes from local Churches and voluntary donations.

The older population is growing and PARCHE cares passionately about the Spiritual welfare of those living in care homes.

Eastbourne Christian Men’s Breakfast 14th June

Our next breakfast is on the 14th June at the Royal Eastbourne Golf Club at 8.00 when Arthur Cornell, a Church Leader at The Gateway Church, Eastbourne will be giving his Thought for the Day.

For newcomers, the breakfast is a full English breakfast served buffet style, the cost is £12.00, cash if possible, cards will be taken if required.

The breakfast starts promptly at 8.00 to finish at 9.00, please arrive around 7.45 to collect a coffee or tea from the drinks station.  With the increased number of guests an early arrival does help to smooth entry.

ECAN Network Meeting June

We are delighted that The Way will be hosting our next ECAN Meeting

on Tuesday 10th June

at 7pm for a 7.10pm start

During the evening we will have a tour of the newly moved and refurbished Hope Woodwork Workshop.

This is a great opportunity to see how Kingdom Way Trust are utilising their facilities and to have a closer look at one of their projects helping people discover new skills for employment.

Both The Way and Hope Woodwork fall under the umbrella of Kingdom Way Trust

Street Pastors Introduction Event for Potential Volunteers

Eastbourne Street Pastors are holding a Recruitment Evening’ on Thursday 12 June.

This evening will be an opportunity for anyone interested in what Street Pastors do.

We want to add to our great team of volunteers and if you want to know what it takes to be a Street Pastor or a Prayer Pastor in Eastbourne or you how you could support us financially please come along.

When: Thursday 12 June

Time: 7pm

In addition to Cakes and hot and cold drinks being available we will be revealing our plans to refurbish and future proof our Safe Space vehicle.
