The production is a one man show called ‘I am Mark’.   Stefan Smart is a former English and Drama teacher and professional actor, who specialises in telling stories from the Bible, in particular the stories of Jesus. He has taken I AM MARK, his solo word for word dramatisation of Mark’s Gospel, across four continents to wide acclaim, and has recently returned from his third and most successful run yet at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and a busy tour of UK Prisons.

We as a church are taking a step of faith, and want this to be a FREE TICKET EVENT.  We’re wanting to invite and bring as many people as we can to this event so they can hear the gospel in a way that will engage them and draw them towards Jesus.  Not only do we want to  introduce people that we know to Jesus but we want to invite you and your congregations to do the same too.  We want this to be a Kingdom event, not and Elim event.  We are praying that ‘I Am Mark’ will be a springboard for our churches to use for evangelism and discipleship.

Pray 2025 to walk the Seaside/St Anthony area

Following an amazing year praying for our town as part of Prayer Eastbourne 2024, we left some unfinished business!

There are two outstanding areas to prayer walk through and one of them is the stretch from the Langney roundabout down through St Anthony’s and Seaside to the town centre.

This is a significant part of our town.   Not only is it a major entry point for people coming in and out, there are several well-established residential areas, three schools, nine churches,  many shops, large and small businesses and retail outlets and community projects.  As we move towards the town increasingly the culture becomes more diverse and fragmented with problems of social decline and need evident.

To this end we are planning a prayer walk from 10 to (approx) 12 on Saturday morning of 17th May, starting from the Church of Christ the King, by the Langney roundabout.

We will build in pause points along the way, in particular at the churches.  These are:

Church of Christ the King (10); Community Church, St Anthony’s (10.15); St Andrew’s (10.30); New Hope Baptist (10.45); St Agnes (11.00); Christchurch (11.15); Marine Hall (11.30); Redeemed Christian Church of God (11.45); Salvation Army (12.00).  Times are approximate.

As it is a ‘one way’ walk, participants will need to work out their return transport arrangements.  These could be:

  • A car share arrangement
  • Walk the route twice!
  • Catch a 1, 1a,  1b bus back

It would be great to sense Christians uniting together with a common heart to bless this part of our town.
