Town Wide Worship Gathering Launched

On multiple occasions in the past, both recent and distant, God has used people in Eastbourne to bring about renaissance in Worship.

Our desire is to honour those past pioneers, by starting something now.

The Worship Service is a place of encounter; extended times of sung worship and creativity that allow space for us to meet with God.

The Worship Service is facilitated and supported by churches across Eastbourne. We come together from our different expressions to unite under one purpose, to worship Jesus.

We will gather once a month at different venues in the Eastbourne area.

Glyndley Manor Courses – May

Please find the information on our upcoming courses at Glyndley Manor for May,

We would like to invite you to our long weekend course titled ‘Healing through Creativity’. This creativity course is not simply an opportunity to do crafts and creative activities, instead, God uses the creativity to reach us deep on the inside. It provides an opportunity for connection – real connection with God and others. A kind of connection that happens when God’s Spirit touches our heart and where our mind is not dictating the process.

If you feel an ache in your heart for a deeper connection with God, then this course may be the key to experiencing God’s healing heart in way you never have before.

The course includes short teachings alongside practical workshop sessions which could include Woodwork, Pottery, Painting & Drawing, Music, Drama, Messy painting, Creative writing, Card making, Textiles, Collage & Lego! The teaching will cover the following topics: God the Creator and Restorer, Abundant Life, Freedom to be and grow, What is creativity and how we create, Creative but not artistic, How God brings healing through creativity and Coming to God as children.

“God has shown me His love. That He truly cares for me and wants the very best for me. He has forgiven me for how I have been feeling towards Him and others.” Testimony from a guest.

If you would like any more information about this exciting course where you will have the time to enjoy being with God and resting in his presence,

If you are local you might like to join us for our second Connect course, we have run this year titled ‘ Living Connected’. We talk more nowadays about connection than ever before, often in terms of connecting to the internet or mobile signal. Connecting to the heart of God can have similar frustrations: lack of clarity, inability to make things work, lack of understanding and knowledge … it can all contribute to a frustrated Christian life. Since we are made as creative beings, in the image of Creator God, creativity often allows us to connect to God in a fresh and deeper way. It isn’t about being artistic or gifted at crafts, rather it is allowing an expression of the human spirit that goes beyond the constraints of words or through life’s filters and perceptions.

Throughout this day there will be there will be plenty of opportunity for guided and creative projects aimed at facilitating a deeper connection with God and allow Him to speak directly into your heart.
Registration starts at 9.30 with the course starting at 10am & finishes at 3pm so perfect to fit in with the school run, costing £20 it includes all materials, coffee/tea & lunch.

We have parallel courses running on the 20-22nd May titled ‘Men for God’ & ‘Healing for Women’

Healing for Women
In these days there are many pressures on women, juggling family & work life, being single or married, pressures to perform and ‘look right’, not to mention coping with issues of the past including relationship breakdowns.

With biblical, relevant, sensitive and practical teaching for women of all ages, this course considers many of the issues you face today in light of biblical truth and the heart of God who longs to see you live in the freedom of just being yourself. The teaching is specifically related to women and women’s issues, taking time to look at past wounding, today’s struggles and gain a deeper understanding God’s plan for you as a woman.

Men for God
Being a man of God yet a man in the world can be extremely conflicting. Navigating life can be fraught with pressures, stumbling blocks and uncertainties which can make it seem impossible to succeed as a man after God’s heart.
This practical and challenging course considers the true meaning of manhood as God intended it to be and what you are created for.

It will explore common areas of difficulty men fall into, looking at how the past has contributed to creating wrong pathways for your present and future, maybe leaving you with a sense of failure and you are ‘just not good enough’. Looking at your God-given identity, with your unique gifts and qualities, it seeks to strengthen your relationship with God and your view of yourself in order to enable you to be able to withstand the pressures, temptations and expectations the world throws at you.

Short term missions opportunity this summer

Eastbourne churches have been sending Christian workers to Latin America for decades, many through Latin Link, an agency which enables partnerships to be formed between the sent workers and their home church and supporters and the receiving church/project in the host country. Long term missionaries from Eastbourne have worked in Ecuador and Peru, whilst others have taken part in life changing short trips to a whole variety of countries. After a pause during the worst of the pandemic, Latin Link is sending two short term mission teams this summer:

1) Guatemala 21st June – 12th July 2022

2) Argentina 18th July – 10th August 2022

All ages can apply, but you do need to be reasonably fit and healthy. More details on the web site ( https://latinlink.org.uk/summer-step-teams/ ) where there are also details of longer term opportunities, plus information about how a Latin American could serve in your church. You can also contact Jenny Brown (previously in Peru with Latin Link): jennyb@latinlink.org.uk

(Latin Link is recognised by Global Connections as operating under the Code of Best Practice in Short-Term Mission 2019–20.)

East Sussex House of Prayer To Read Whole Bible Aloud Over 4 Days

From Their Press Release

A few weeks ago we sent you an update on the progress of HOPES (House of Prayer EAST Sussex) and we gave you details of the first (opening!) event that God has laid upon our hearts to undertake in partnership with local fellowships.

We are asking for all churches to sign up to a 30 minute slot to proclaim Gods authority in East Sussex through the public reading of his word at the Coach House, situated in Bexhill.

We would love to see as many churches as possible at this event and would not want anything to prevent you not taking part, so please contact us if you need further information or support.

One of the HOPES values is its Integrity and loyalty to God’s Word in all things. We (like you) believe that the spoken word of God is powerful and believe that this is a foundational practice to the formation of HOPES. That is why we would love your help in reading the whole bible from Genesis to Revelation 24 hours a day over 4 days from the 13th – 16th April 2022.

We hope that you and your fellowship will be able to sign up for 30mins (or more) slots throughout the 4 days and we would love to see as many different fellowships to come and read (or listen) together. Remember, it is 24 hours a day! People are free to stay and spend some time listening and praying, with refreshments and snacks provided. Parking is available onsite.

We will be starting the event off with a short service at 10am on Wednesday 13th April and we would love to see as many faces as possible. We will then start our Bible reading at 11am.

We can’t wait to see what God is going to do in (and through) this event and as we believe that this is foundational in establishing a central meeting place for all in the Body of Christ in the south-east region and beyond for the purpose of worship, waiting, prayer and intercession.

For more information about us please visit our website www.hopeastsussex.org

To sign up now please visit https://pray.24-7prayer.com/signup/5ce176 or for more info email info@hopeastsussex.org or call the HOPES team on 07840578677.

Ellel Glyndley Courses Announced

Here is an update from Ellel Glyndley

New Explore Course starting:

Come and join us for our Explore course which is starting to run from the 18-19th March.  Explore is a series of 10 weekend courses spread over a year designed to train and equip God’s people through a journey of learning, understanding and personal transformation. This course answers life’s foundational questions from a solid biblical perspective – perhaps in a way that you have never heard God’s story explained before. Together we will find that there is hope and help for the issues we struggle with in everyday life – issues of anxiety, stress, physical pain, emotional distress, problems in relationships, addictive behaviour, and depression to name just a few.

Each of the events in the series will include time for worship, biblical teaching, group discussion, activities, personal reflection, and opportunity for prayer.

Explore offers the opportunity to briefly get away from your everyday world, to enjoy the beautiful grounds and surroundings of our centre and reconnect with God. We have an amazing team that wants to make your visit with us a deeply blessed one.

The first course in this series is titled ‘ The Big Picture’ where it is exploring God’s Foundations for Life.

On the 4 -10th April we have our Restoration week called ‘Rediscovering Identity’. Restoration Weeks are an insightful blend of teaching and ministry, designed to build you back up from a place of woundedness into renewal.

Do you know who you are? Are you living as the person God made you to be? If your answer to these questions is “no” then this week is for you! During the week there is teaching to understand the principles of how our God-given identity can be crushed, distorted or hidden.

With God’s restoration of your innermost being, you can find the truth of your unique personhood and so move into your full potential and find your personal destiny. For the first three days of the Restoration Week, the focus is on teaching, as well as creativity workshops, where you can experiment with new ideas, and times of fellowship. After a free day on Sunday for rest, personal time and assimilation of the teaching, the second half of the week is made up of short teaching sessions with time to pray after each session.

Ellel Glyndley Manor runs four different Restoration Weeks every year, each having a different teaching theme woven in.
For more information on this course please click here https://ellel.uk/courses/listing/ellel-glyndley-manor/april-2022/restoration-week-2-rediscovering-identity-3/

The day will include what Luke 9:11 means to the ministry, how it all began, some “bite sized” teaching and an opportunity to view one of the holiday cottages on site.
