Pray 2025 to walk the Seaside/St Anthony area

Following an amazing year praying for our town as part of Prayer Eastbourne 2024, we left some unfinished business!

There are two outstanding areas to prayer walk through and one of them is the stretch from the Langney roundabout down through St Anthony’s and Seaside to the town centre.

This is a significant part of our town.   Not only is it a major entry point for people coming in and out, there are several well-established residential areas, three schools, nine churches,  many shops, large and small businesses and retail outlets and community projects.  As we move towards the town increasingly the culture becomes more diverse and fragmented with problems of social decline and need evident.

To this end we are planning a prayer walk from 10 to (approx) 12 on Saturday morning of 17th May, starting from the Church of Christ the King, by the Langney roundabout.

We will build in pause points along the way, in particular at the churches.  These are:

Church of Christ the King (10); Community Church, St Anthony’s (10.15); St Andrew’s (10.30); New Hope Baptist (10.45); St Agnes (11.00); Christchurch (11.15); Marine Hall (11.30); Redeemed Christian Church of God (11.45); Salvation Army (12.00).  Times are approximate.

As it is a ‘one way’ walk, participants will need to work out their return transport arrangements.  These could be:

  • A car share arrangement
  • Walk the route twice!
  • Catch a 1, 1a,  1b bus back

It would be great to sense Christians uniting together with a common heart to bless this part of our town.

Next Eastbourne Men’s Breakfast

Hi Folks

Our next breakfast is on the 10th May at the Royal Eastbourne Golf Club at 8.00 when Lucy Sleep, who worships at St Michaels and All Angels, Eastbourne will be sharing her Thought for the Day.

For newcomers, the breakfast is a full English breakfast served buffet style, the cost is £12.00, cash if possible, cards will be taken if required.

The breakfast starts promptly at 8.00 to finish at 9.00, please arrive around 7.45 to collect a coffee or tea from the drinks station.  With the increased number of guests an early arrival does help to smooth entry.

For newcomers who might be interested in attending, please contact me.

If you are in receipt of this email and you are unable to attend, please give me your apology by 3pm, the Thursday prior to the breakfast, the number I submit is the number I will be charged for.  I do hope to see you there.

Our June speaker on the 14th is Arthur Cornell, a Church Leader at The Gateway Church, Eastbourne.

God Bless
