Baby Bank Seeks New Premises

Eastbourne Baby Bank is appealing for help to find a permenant home for their project. Our time being hosted by Computers for Charities is coming to an end and we definitely couldn’t have got to where we are now without their support. But building maintenance issues mean we can’t stay any longer.

We need a permanent ground floor space (at least 12 x 15ft) with facilities and parking.  Ideally it would allow for pick up and drop off. Our project is run in line with Christian principles and assists the poorest and most vulnerable in our community – we’ve just delivered our 1000th bundle to a local family in need.

We’d appreciate your support.

A Call to Worship: All Through This Hour Movement Releases Two Prophetic Songs for a New Season

This Christmas Eve, the All Through This Hour movement, a collective of prayerful, prophetic friends from various churches and networks across the UK, will release ‘We Seek Your Face’ – a worship song inspired by Psalm 24 and co-written by songwriters Hannah Atkins-Latty and Les Moir, recorded at Ashburnham Place. This heartfelt anthem calls listeners to seek Jesus with humility and is especially poignant as they celebrate His birth, expressing a desire to declare our ‘welcome’ to the King of Glory here and now.

The ‘All Through This Hour’ movement’s name draws from the timeless words that accompany Big Ben’s chimes: ‘All through this hour, Lord be our guide. That by Thy power, no foot shall slide.’ This phrase serves as a reminder to place our trust in God’s constant guidance. Inspired by these words, All Through This Hour is a movement that seeks to listen to Jesus’ voice; taking action to help prepare the Church to introduce more people to Jesus, to prepare for the uncertain terrain that lies ahead and to (above all) keep seeking Jesus’s face.

In early 2025, ‘Our Hope Is In You’ will follow as a prophetic declaration for the new year. Written for a time of uncertainty, this song reminds us that Jesus alone is the firm foundation and source of lasting hope. Its lyrics affirm that faith in Jesus is unwavering, calling the Church to trust in Him alone. Hannah Atkins-Latty’s words speak to the year ahead, inviting believers to anchor their faith in the unchanging nature of Jesus despite what is going on around us.

These releases from All Through This Hour come at a pivotal time, offering worship that is both deeply personal and broadly prophetic. ‘We Seek Your Face’ on Christmas Eve and ‘Our Hope Is In You’ for 2025 together form a soundtrack of trust, hope, and devotion to Jesus. Both songs will be available on all major streaming platforms, inviting believers across the UK and beyond to welcome the King of Glory with open hearts and declare His reign over their lives, their communities, nations and the year to come.

Police Help to Help Charities Fight Cyber Crime

The police provide free and funded support for charities to support them in becoming more resilient with digital crime. I am one of the lead police officers reaching out to our region’s charities to make you aware of this.

The police cyber resilience centres offer the option of joining your local SME community for free, to get ongoing support from the police against online crime, as there has been an increase in small charities being at risk of various online crimes.

This will affect you even if you do not provide a service, product, or conduct online fundraising. It will still be relevant to protect your staff, charity beneficiaries, volunteers, and your funds.
This police initiative has been established as part of a policing community engagement, to offer you free crime prevention help in this digital era.

On our cyber resilience centre website, you will find a link to a free information pack www.secrc.police.uk/free-information-pack, or you can contact me to arrange a short call to explain the support available to you, and why you might be at risk of online crime that you may not be aware of. We charity help Trustees,  staff, and volunteers.

I appreciate you may get fake emails, please take you time to confirm my status by exploring more at www.secrc.police.uk, or search for South East Cyber Resilience Centre on a reputable search engine.  We are part of a network of 9 police centres across the 43 police forces in England and Wales.

Finally, you can also confirm my authenticity by phoning 101 and checking with Sussex Police, my ID number is CW435, Detective Inspector Chris White.

DGH Chaplaincy Team Appeal for Volunteers

Our hospital is probably the place with the highest concentration of spiritual concerns in the whole area, yet if we are honest, we in the churches seem to be somewhat unaware of this, apart from when one visits a particular friend on the ward. Our visit may make us realise how cut off and anxious a person can be, whether the admission is for a minor medical problem or a serious threat.  Multiply that concern by 380 (the number of beds) and then, in addition add the stresses and emotional weight carried by the nurses and doctors, and the scale of the issue will soon raise our eyebrows!

Since Covid the number of volunteer chaplains has dropped drastically. There is such a vacuum of spiritual care, a fact that is so poignant when spiritual care has been emphasised as an essential aspect to medical care: data shows its measurable benefit.

Even a couple of hours on the wards with free access to share with any patient can be very rewarding. Sometimes even a brief moment chatting with a porter or ward clerk is an opportunity to encourage and appreciate them. They so value such moments.

Do please think about this call to care, to serve others. If you wish to explore the idea, do please ring the lead chaplain, Graham Atfield on 07972 242741

Learning Evangelism From Jesus – River of Life Church & Mark and Fiona Gilpin

“Saturday 23rd November, 10am – 4pm at St Barnabas Church ‘Learning Evangelism from Jesus’.

Making Jesus known is one of the greatest privileges of our lives. Yet have you ever wondered why many Christians struggle to share their faith? Have you ever considered what is the most effective way to share the gospel? Who do you think is the best evangelist that we can learn most from?

We have invited Mark & Fiona Gilpin to help us learn how to share the gospel with our community. For over twenty-five years they have equipped churches to discover God’s heart for the lost and the privilege of partnering with God to fulfil the Great Commission.

At the Learning Evangelism from Jesus training day, they will help us explore how Jesus trained his disciples and did evangelism. They will take us on a journey to discover the transformative power of Jesus’ gospel of the Kingdom.

You can find further information about Mark & Fiona Gilpin at www.evangelismreimagined.org.
