Glyndley Manor Course Updates

God’s Design for Sexuality    (Explore B5)                          9-10 AUGUST

We are facing constant, unprecedented and forceful challenges of secular opinion towards personal identity and sexuality. Maybe you, like many others, are left with very real and honest questions about God’s design for us as sexual beings, possibly even afraid to voice your thoughts or opinions.

This course explores the scriptural foundation for human sexuality as God intended it to be. It will look at the importance and significance of the biblical covenant of marriage, the power of boundaries and will explain how sexual expression outside of this has consequences not just on our lives, but all those connected to us.

The focus of the course is to bring clarity on the heart of God for those looking for healing and restoration. We will look at His offer to bring cleansing, break ungodly bondages and the joy of walking in purity, regardless of past or present struggles.

Healing from Inner Hurt and Pain (Explore A6)
               16-17 AUGUST

Inner hurts and pain are a reality we all face and can be ignored, suppressed or even denied. Yet the legacy of the issues can linger and negatively outwork in every area of our life. Understanding how our inner being functions and can be damaged is a key to opening new doors for God’s healing work in our lives.

This course clearly outlines the fundamental understanding of who we are as people, what is really going on in our inner being, and how past experiences have affected us and left us with struggles we can’t seem to break through. It will help untangle the causes and effects of inner damage as well as how to apply God’s Truth and bring hope and healing to the hidden and hurting places within.

Connect 3   Creativity    7 AUGUST

Since we are made as creative beings, in the image of Creator God, creativity often allows us to connect to God in a fresh and deeper way. It isn’t about being artistic or gifted at crafts, rather it is allowing an expression of the human spirit that goes beyond the constraints of words or through life’s filters and perceptions.

Throughout this day there will be plenty of opportunity for guided and creative projects aimed at facilitating a deeper connection with God and allow Him to speak directly into your heart. Glyndley Manor runs a number of Connect courses throughout the year, each with a slightly different theme highlighted in the title.

Healing Through Creativity                                             23-26 AUGUST

Many people live with the pressure of working at an outer persona that is seemingly acceptable whilst experiencing a very real sense of emptiness on the inside. Lost in negative patterns of behaviour, just going through the motions of being a Christian, there can be a deep sense of isolation and wondering if there is more.

This creativity course is not simply an opportunity to do crafts and creative activities, instead, God uses the creativity to reach us deep on the inside. It provides an opportunity for connection – real connection with God and others. A kind of connection that happens when God’s Spirit touches our heart and where our mind is not dictating the process.

If you feel an ache in your heart for a deeper connection with God, then this course may be the key to experiencing God’s healing heart in way you never have before.

24 Hours of Prayer for Eastbourne by Our Young People

24 in 24 in 24 – Saturday 6th July.  Young people praying for our town!

’24 in 24 in 24’ is the name given to the youth relay prayer walk planned for Saturday 6th July.  24 miles around the circumference of Eastbourne in 24 hours in 2024.

The aim is to encourage our young people to catch a vision of praying God’s blessing on our town. There are six ‘legs’ – details below.  There will be a ‘Prayer Baton’ which will be passed from group to group.  Handover times are as near as we can guess, but are approximate.

You are most welcome to join one of the legs with your young people.

You would be responsible for your own young people.  There is no lower age limit but any one under 11 should also be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.  The upper age limit is 25 except for youth leaders or accompanying parents. You are responsible to arrange drop off and pick up for your participants.  Bring your own first aid kit.  There will be a car with water bottles which can be called if anyone can’t complete their leg.

We are suggesting that groups think ahead and prepare/write their own prayers to be said on the day. You can find out more about Pray Eastbourne 2024 by checking out the website or the facebook page.

If you would like to find out more about taking part or to register your interest please contact Martyn Relf.  Phone/text 07706 181568.

Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team – 20 Years of Service

This year we celebrate 20 years of BHCT. Since 2004 BHCT has been seeking out, reaching out, giving support, offering hope and saving lives at Beachy Head.

In that time there have been 102 Chaplains operational at Beachy Head all members of local churches and all called to serve Jesus and follow his example to serve others. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:9-10.

On 20th August at 7:30pm there will be a re commissioning of the BHCT team, celebration event, at St John the Evangelist Church Eastbourne. Also to celebrate our 20th anniversary we have produced a video about our work. The video is available in a longer format of 10 mins or a short formatted 3 mins which is suitable for using in a church, mission or prayer event.
