Most of us find it very challenging to hear from God, or even to connect with him when we are sick, whether it be a short lived illness but even more so when it is chronic and enduring. We believe in God who heals today – and yet live with the mystery that he doesn’t always heal in the way we would prefer. How does that affect our ability to engage with him, particularly when we are sick?
Crowhurst Christian Healing Centre are holding a Quiet Day – “Hearing God in our sickness” on Friday 12th May. The day will contain opportunities to reflect on questions like ‘when I am sick does God go silent – or do I become deaf’? Consideration will also be given to how to engage with that silence, and how that affects prayer.
The Quiet Day will have some short periods of led reflections, opportunity to spend time alone with the Lord, and will conclude with sharing Communion.
Whether you are sick, and longing to hear from the Lord, or walking with a loved one who is sick, this Quiet Day will have something for you to ponder. Although this Quiet Day focuses on hearing from God in our sickness, the principles will be equally applicable to other stormy times of life!
£30 per person to include a 2 course lunch and morning & afternoon refreshments or £10 per person to join virtually via Zoom. Book on 01424 830204 or via our website: https://www.crowhursthealing.org.uk/retreat.php?retreat=725
