Kingsway CLC Trust is at a pivotal and exciting time. For many years our Christian mission has worked in certain physical ways through bookshops and music, production and distribution, publishing and partnership. We now find ourselves facing growing demands and challenges in a more digital world and need to use different vehicles for our mission. The Mission remains the same, to see people saved and discipled through God’s word in all its varying forms.

There is still a great work to be done. Is God calling you to be part of the team? These exciting roles are available now to help prepare us for what is to come. Holy Trinity is an engaging Evangelical Anglican church for all ages near the seafront in the heart of Eastbourne. We are a church that is open to all, has a joyful passion for Jesus, and gives priority to the Bible. As the church expands through its multifaceted ministry, we are seeking an Operations Manager (hours to be agreed), who will share our mission to release the Ministry Team to focus more on Bible ministries.

 This new senior leadership role will contribute to the effectiveness and growth of the church through the practical management of our extensive church facilities, its operational organisation and management. You will work closely with the church minister(s), Ministry team, PCC, Standing Committee, churchwarden(s) and office administrator, to ensure the smooth running of the church activities. The role will include sharing in the recruitment and management of staff, shared oversight of the finance, IT, property and facilities, client management, bookings and logistics.

It is expected that you will be a committed Christian with confidence in the Bible shown in a godly character, appropriate experience and skills, a willingness to serve like Christ and an understanding of a growing evangelical church in an historic building.

On January 28th – 31st we have our first Healing weekend of the year called ‘Steps to restoring emotional wholeness’. This special weekend is designed for ordinary people who find expressing their emotions difficult. This course will bring understanding of why we find it hard to express our emotions and how Jesus is able to bring healing and wholeness in expressing ourselves emotionally. On the 18 -24th February we have our Restoration week called ‘Rebuilding Lives’. Restoration Weeks are an insightful blend of teaching and ministry, designed to build you back up from a place of woundedness into renewal. On the 26th of February we have a Free Taster Day where you can explore all that we do at Glyndley Manor.  This exciting free day will give you the opportunity of tasting some of the foundational teaching of Ellel Ministries as we look at various aspects of healing and discipleship. The day will include what Luke 9:11 means to the ministry, how it all began, some “bite sized” teaching and an opportunity to view one of the holiday cottages on site. A project called Movement for Change is drawing together churches and civic authorities to address local need. It emerged from a podcast.

There are moments when things change. When an idea gets traction. When a possibility begins to become a reality.

It was as we hosted Mayors Andy Burnham and Marvin Rees on a call in June, exploring Movement for Recovery as a concept and how the Church could work more effectively with the Civic, that such a moment occurred.

As we looked to end the call, Andy Burnham interrupted.

“Hang on, before we finish. Do we not need to think about how we scale this thing?”

And it was from there that Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Manchester, offered to host a meeting with the 10 Metro Mayors to explore taking a Movement for Recovery to a whole new level.

A Bible is for life – and as the advert says not just for Christmas …

The Christian Resource Centre (CRC) at 91-93 Seaside Road still has a wide range of Bibles and Bible products available – but only for the next few weeks.

As announced in November, CRC will be closing its doors for good on  31^st January 2022 after 75 years of operation so this will be the last month during which you will be able to buy such a wide range of Christian resources locally. We’ve also got lots of great books, DVDs, CDs, gifts and of course cards.  (stock up for next Christmas).

This regular event is taking place 7pm – 9pm 27th January 2022 on Holocaust Memorial Day itself.  It is planned that the bookings will be via Eventbrite.  The event is free.  There will be a CFI resources stall at the kiosk.  Dorit Wolfe, holocaust survivor and resident in Eastbourne will be selling and signing copies of her book in the 20 minute interval.  The Congress Theatre bar serveries will be open before the event and during the interval.
