Emergency Housing Support Worker

Due to the expansion of our Emergency Housing provision, we are looking for a dedicated and caring Support Worker to join our team in Eastbourne. This is a people-focused role where you will spend meaningful time supporting residents, helping them move towards greater independence and stability.

About the role

  • Build supportive, encouraging relationships with residents in Emergency Housing
  • Provide practical help and day-to-day guidance
  • Carry out some administrative and organisational tasks
  • Work alongside staff, churches, and external agencies to deliver holistic support

About you

You’ll be someone who:

  • Has a heart for vulnerable people and a desire to serve others
  • Is in agreement with our Christian values and ethos
  • Can support individuals facing challenges such as: Poor mental health, Past offending, Recovery from drug or alcohol dependency
  • Demonstrates strong listening skills, empathy, and patience
  • Is flexible, willing to learn, and able to work as part of a growing team

Property maintenance & services

We are looking for someone to join the team to provide practical support for the various projects of the charity, ensuring a good quality and safe delivery of the services.

This will be a varied role including: Carrying out basic maintenance, coordinating other routine maintenance and improvements across the properties, moving furniture and collecting supplies and other donations.

You will need to be someone who can take initiative, be flexible and respond to a variety of situations and tasks.

A full, clean driving licence is required to drive the charity’s van. DBS check required.

From 16 hours per week – negotiable. Salary (£26,000 pro rata)
