Supporting the Vulnerable in Our Communities

ChurchWorks is an independent commission working to bring together the Church and Government to support the vulnerable in our communities. We are led by a group of commissioners representing 16 major UK Christian denominations and umbrella bodies. One area of church/government collaboration we are working on is the Pride in Place Programme, where over £5bn is being distributed to disadvantaged communities across Britain. This programme offers churches the opportunity to be at the heart of long-term community engagement and local transformation. You may be interested in exploring our Pride in Place Church Leader’s Guide, which you can find here.

As a result, we are delighted to invite you to our upcoming Pride in Place webinar. This session is specifically designed as an opportunity for church leaders in Pride in Place locations to learn more about the programme, and how they might get involved in their specific context. We are due to be joined by representatives from the Ministry for Housing, Communities, and Local Government (MHCLG), the Methodist Church, and have case studies from church leaders across the country who are already involved in their local Pride in Place expressions.

To join us online via Zoom on Wednesday 30th September 2026 from 10am to 12 midday, please register here using this link. The event is completely free of charge.

We’ll share a Zoom link and more detailed agenda closer to the time.

Finally, we kindly ask you to share details of this event with any church leaders or colleagues in your local area. We have endeavoured to locate every church in the 284 Pride in Place locations, but there will inevitably be some we have missed. You can find a full list of locations via our Church Leaders’ Guide.

If you have any questions, please feel free to respond and we will do our best to answer.
