Hearing God in Our Sickness

Most of us find it very challenging to hear from God, or even to connect with him when we are sick, whether it be a short lived illness but even more so when it is chronic and enduring. We believe in God who heals today – and yet live with the mystery that he doesn’t always heal in the way we would prefer. How does that affect our ability to engage with him, particularly when we are sick?

Crowhurst Christian Healing Centre are holding a Quiet Day – “Hearing God in our sickness” on Friday 12th May.  The day will contain opportunities to reflect on questions like ‘when I am sick does God go silent – or do I become deaf’? Consideration will also be given to how to engage with that silence, and how that affects prayer.

The Quiet Day will have some short periods of led reflections, opportunity to spend time alone with the Lord, and will conclude with sharing Communion.

Whether you are sick, and longing to hear from the Lord, or walking with a loved one who is sick, this Quiet Day will have something for you to ponder.  Although this Quiet Day focuses on hearing from God in our sickness, the principles will be equally applicable to other stormy times of life!

£30 per person to include a 2 course lunch and morning & afternoon refreshments or £10 per person to join virtually via Zoom.  Book on 01424 830204 or via our website: https://www.crowhursthealing.org.uk/retreat.php?retreat=725

Glyndley Manor Training & Ministry Events – May & June 2023

Explore is a series of weekend courses designed to train and equip God’s people through a journey of learning, understanding and personal transformation.

WHAT IS EXPLORE?

Together we will find that there is hope and help for the issues we struggle with in everyday life – issues of anxiety, stress, physical pain, emotional distress, problems in relationships, addictive behaviour and depression to name just a few.

Those who journey through Explore will grow in their personal relationship with the Lord but also become better equipped to help others as they learn how to minister in the love and power of God to those in need.

Each of the events in the series will include time for worship, biblical teaching, group discussion, activities and opportunity for prayer.

EXPLORE A3: THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS                           19-20 MAY

When Jesus spoke from the Cross, “Father forgive them”, He released to humankind an immensely powerful key for restoration from the bondage of pain from the past. For true freedom we need not only to receive God’s forgiveness for our own sinful actions, but we need to extend forgiveness to all those who have hurt us, however difficult this may be.

Unlocking this pivotal Kingdom principle, this course we will explore the damage caused when there is unforgiveness, judgement and bitterness in our hearts and how to face the many challenges of applying this key to the painful areas of our lives. Breaking the subject down into four main principles and looking at each one will highlight just how central a topic this is to our wellbeing, not just spiritually, but how it can also affect us emotionally and even physically.

Throughout the course there will be personal times with God for Him to bring conviction, healing and restoration from the damage that unforgiveness can inflict upon you, unlocking a pathway to true and sustained healing.

The nation is gearing up for the Coronation and so is Crowhurst Christian Healing Centre!  Every week day next week you are welcome to join them at their public 10am service where they will be lifting high the name of Jesus – the King and praying into this important event for Great Britain.

The house is open for those who wish to stay residentially (either for the whole week or just a few nights).  CCHC will be injecting some colour and fun into this special week with a Coronation quiz, ‘design your own bunting’ and Coronation prayers.  On Thursday 4th you are invited to wear red, white and/or blue (and a hat if you have one!) and enjoy some complimentary Coronation cake after the 10am service.

The CCHC café, Howard’s Well is open 8.30am – 3pm for breakfasts, lunches and refreshments.  Whether you book a stay or join them for the day they look forward to marking this significant event with you.
